BeeAway: The road trip companion app

Project Overview

BeeAway is a road trip companion app to help remote workers and other outdoor enthusiasts find accommodations that meet the needs of a post-pandemic traveler.

What I did

In this research project, I utilized user research, ideating techniques, and prototyping with testing and iteration throughout.

The Problem

Young professionals who work remotely have been frustrated with the often unreliable accommodation information available to them as they seek to balance their work and travel goals.

What I learned from potential users

“I like a comfortable experience that allows me to get out in nature a lot. Unfortunately, finding reliable info on places to stay is a challenge.”

— Potential user

“I want to experience nature as much as possible!”

— Potential user

“I like being flexible when deciding where to stay and for how long.”

— Potential user

“I don’t like taking time away from my trip to arrange accommodations. I wish I could get recommendations based on previous places I’ve stayed.”

— Potential user

Defining the user journey

Wire-framing

Hand drawn wireframes were created by each team member and were evaluated with multiple features and aspects of each combined to inform our final design.
